Audit Manager

About the role

NSTR is recruiting on behalf of a leading audit, tax and consulting firm that is expanding its audit offering within the banking, building society and lending sectors. The client seeks an Audit Manager to lead audits for both regulated and unregulated lenders, with a strong focus on IFRS 9 compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute audit engagements for lenders across retail and commercial portfolios.
• Develop, enhance and apply IFRS 9 audit methodologies.
• Audit Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models for products such as mortgages, personal loans, credit cards and consumer finance.
• Coordinate with client finance teams to assess accounting and reporting controls.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure delivery of high‑quality audit reports.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as an Audit Manager with deep IFRS 9 expertise.
• Hands‑on experience auditing ECL models for retail/consumer lending products.
• Background in banking, commercial or retail finance sectors.
