Audit Manager – £50,000 – Manchester (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead a portfolio of audit engagements for a specialist accountancy practice in Manchester city centre. The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 and flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients with annual fees of at least £400K.
• Plan, execute, review and complete audit engagements in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
• Ensure audit files meet technical and quality standards for senior manager and partner review.
• Control budgets and fee targets for each assignment, identifying and mitigating issues early.
• Maintain client satisfaction through timely delivery and proactive communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing audit portfolios of £400K+ per year.
• Strong background in a traditional accounting or audit firm.
• Deep knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
• Track record of delivering high‑quality work on time and within budget.
• Ability to manage budgets, fee targets and client expectations.
