Branch Manager – West London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our West London branch of a well‑established builders' merchant. You will be responsible for the overall performance of the branch, ensuring excellent customer service, operational efficiency, health and safety compliance, and commercial results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing branch team.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong client relationships.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations including stock control, purchasing, deliveries and trade counter activities.
• Monitor sales performance, identify improvement opportunities and drive commercial results.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
• Oversee staffing levels, attendance, holidays and employee wellbeing.
• Act as the primary link between the branch and senior management.
• Plan and organise resources to support business growth.

Required profile

• Previous management experience in a builders' merchant, construction supplies or retail environment.
• Proven leadership ability with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
• Excellent customer service and relationship‑management skills.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience managing branch operations and driving performance.

• Internal business systems
• Forklift Licence (advantageous but not essential)
