Building Surveyor – Claims Evaluation (North West)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our claims team in the North West. You will assess properties impacted by general perils such as fire, flood and storm, and may also work on subsidence cases.

Key responsibilities

• Review client and claim handler information and conduct detailed site visits to validate policy cover and damage scope.
• Communicate with policyholders to gather additional data and explain liability decisions.
• Create repair schedules, validate variation requests and ensure compliance with policy terms.
• Manage the full claim lifecycle from assessment through to final report submission.
• Appoint and instruct contractors, including asbestos, drying, restoration and building specialists.
• Maintain adherence to health & safety legislation and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant technical or loss adjusting experience, preferably with subsidence project management.
• Degree in Building Surveying (BSc Hons) or equivalent.
• Minimum MRICS qualification (AssocRICS).

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
• Understanding of the Party Wall Act 1996.
• Familiarity with Building Regulations and Planning Legislation.
• Experience in subsidence project management.
