Business Development Manager – Travel Agency Sales

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to expand the presence of a leading luxury tour operator within the South UK travel agency market. The role involves building and nurturing relationships with travel agents, driving market share, and representing the brand at industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the company on the road, strengthening relationships with travel agents across the South UK.
• Review and analyse sales figures to identify trends and take corrective action.
• Gather and feed market intelligence back into the business.
• Plan and host training events, roadshows and overseas familiarisation trips for travel partners.
• Collaborate with the Travel Experts team to improve agent communication and resolve booking issues.
• Negotiate favourable commercial terms with national accounts and key suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a field‑based role within the travel industry, preferably with a tour operator.
• Proven track record of acquiring and managing travel agency accounts.
• Extensive existing relationships with travel agents in the South UK territory.
• Strong negotiation skills and a confident, brand‑ambassador attitude.
• Highly organised with the ability to plan sales calls, meetings, joint marketing activities and training events.
• Flexible and willing to travel as required.
