Care Home Activities Coordinator

About the role

The Activities Coordinator will create a vibrant, engaging environment for residents, ensuring daily life is stimulating, social and enjoyable. You will draw on your background in arts, theatre, music, hospitality and event hosting to design and deliver a varied programme that promotes wellbeing and community spirit.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead a wide range of daily activities, workshops and events for residents.
• Collaborate with the Home Manager and Regional Hospitality & Lifestyle Manager to align programmes with resident needs and care home policies.
• Manage volunteers and assist staff in delivering group activities.
• Maintain activity schedules, resources and documentation.
• Adapt programmes to changing resident preferences, health conditions and staffing levels.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Lifestyle or Activities Coordinator, or in a similar role within care, community, leisure, hospitality or event management.
• Strong organisational abilities, creativity and a proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with residents, families and staff.
• High empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly and disabled residents.
• Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to shifting schedules.

Required skills

• Knowledge and experience in theatre, art, music, hospitality and event hosting.
• Ability to lead group activities and coordinate volunteers.
