Careers Advisor – Support Young People

About the role
Reed is looking for a passionate Careers Advisor to join a vibrant Further Education setting in Birmingham. You will help 16‑18‑year‑old learners and adult students make informed choices about education, training, apprenticeships, higher education and employment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver impartial one‑to‑one careers guidance and coaching sessions.
- Support progression into Higher Education, apprenticeships, T‑Levels and employment.
- Design and run employability workshops and careers‑education sessions.
- Use Labour Market Information to inform career planning.
- Assist learners with SEND and additional support needs.
- Build relationships with employers, universities, training providers and community partners.
- Organise careers fairs, employer engagement activities and progression events.
- Monitor student destinations and contribute to Gatsby Benchmark and Ofsted requirements.
Required profile
- Level 6 or above Careers Guidance qualification (QCG or Level 6 Diploma).
- Proven experience delivering careers guidance to post‑16 learners.
- Strong knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and careers‑education frameworks.
- Understanding of Ofsted expectations and student progression outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.

- Term‑time only working pattern (36.5 hours/week).

- Salary £30,105 – £32,416 per annum.
