Catering Lecturer – Food Technology Teacher

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Catering Lecturers to deliver Food Technology and Professional Cookery programmes for well‑established further education providers in London. You will inspire learners pursuing careers in hospitality, catering and food service, helping them develop practical kitchen skills and industry knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality catering and cookery lessons.
• Teach a range of programmes including Catering, Professional Cookery and Hospitality.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress in line with college requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support to learners.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom and ensure all practical activities comply with food hygiene, health and safety and industry regulations.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Catering, Professional Cookery, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts or a related subject.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Catering in Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for catering and hospitality education.
