Child Care Solicitor – 2+ Years PQE

About the role

We are partnering with a nationally recognised law firm to recruit an experienced Child Care Solicitor. The role is hybrid, based in the North West, and offers the chance to manage a rewarding caseload of publicly funded child care matters while working within a supportive, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of publicly funded child care matters from instruction through to conclusion.
• Advise and represent clients in care proceedings, adoption matters and Special Guardianship Order applications.
• Provide clear, practical, compassionate legal advice to legally aided clients.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate and attend court hearings.
• Prepare high‑quality legal documents, court applications and correspondence.
• Maintain accurate, compliant case files in line with regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and external professionals.
• Support the growth and success of the Child Care department.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• Minimum 2 years PQE within Child Care or Family Law.
• Experience managing your own caseload of publicly funded child care matters.
• Strong advocacy skills and confidence representing clients in court.
• Excellent communication, organisation and client‑care abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
