Civil Supervisor - BESS Project

About the role

Join Mint Selection, a proud B Corp, to lead the civil and structural works for a high-impact Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Exeter. As a Civil Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of essential infrastructure, from earthworks to final site construction, within a sustainable and high-standard environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily site activities for all civil and structural works, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, access roads, conduits, fencing, and site construction.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure full compliance with project plans, technical specifications, and quality standards.
• Drive QA/QC processes by verifying and signing off on works according to Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, identifying and rectifying any defects promptly.
• Coordinate civil work packages, track progress, manage risks, and ensure adherence to schedules and contractual requirements.
• Guarantee strict compliance with HSEQ standards and CDM regulations.
• Support the Site and Project Managers through detailed progress reporting, quality documentation, and seamless coordination with electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
• Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
• Maintain comprehensive site records, including inspection reports, QA/QC documents, permits, and certifications.
• Manage suppliers, logistics, and work sequencing while managing and closing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
• Contribute to project handover by ensuring all civil works are signed off and "as-built" documentation is complete.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in supervising civil engineering works on large-scale industrial or energy projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, foundations, and structural infrastructure.
• Demonstrated expertise in QA/QC management and ITP implementation.
• Strict commitment to HSEQ and CDM safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex logistics.
• Strong communication skills for leading briefings and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
