Claims Handler – Insurance (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Claims Handler to join our growing insurance team in Manchester. You will be the first point of contact for clients filing claims, guiding them through the process and ensuring a fair, efficient resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage claims from initial receipt to final settlement, maintaining accurate records throughout.
• Process instructions, correspondence and documentation promptly.
• Prepare regular reports and ensure all claim activity is fully recorded.
• Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders, responding to phone and email enquiries professionally.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent service and support audit, compliance and review activities.
• Assist with claims reporting, management information and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Previous experience in claims handling, insurance administration or a similar insurance‑focused role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑centric approach.
• Excellent organisational ability to manage multiple claims and priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of FCA regulations and insurance policy wording.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Experience using case management or database systems.
