Clinical Lead (Band 7)

About the role

The Band 7 Clinical Lead will join the nursing team at Western General Hospital, providing inspirational leadership to deliver high‑quality, person‑focused care. This role supports NHS Lothian’s strategic vision for compassionate, collaborative healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary nursing team to achieve clinical excellence.
• Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient‑centred services in line with NHS standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including PVG Scheme membership.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with extensive clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a healthcare setting.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills
