Clinical Negligence Solicitor – up to £80,000

About the role

Join a specialist healthcare litigation team in Birmingham as a Clinical Negligence Solicitor. You will represent major healthcare organisations and public sector bodies on complex, high‑value defendant clinical negligence matters, managing your own caseload while collaborating with senior lawyers and medical experts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of defendant clinical negligence claims, both pre‑litigated and litigated.
• Conduct detailed investigations to assess liability and quantum.
• Draft pleadings, reports, and correspondence.
• Liaise with clients, claimants, counsel, experts and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate case records, key dates and action plans.
• Contribute to client development, networking and training initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with client protocols, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE in clinical negligence or healthcare litigation.
• Experience handling defendant clinical negligence claims (claimant experience also considered).
• Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload of complex, high‑value matters.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Confident communicator able to engage effectively with clients, counsel, experts and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
