Clinical Pharmacist – Specialist Paediatric & Women’s Services

About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to lead and develop our specialist pharmacy service across Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Women’s Hospital. The role will ensure outstanding pharmaceutical care for paediatric and women’s patients while supporting a dynamic, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and deliver the clinical pharmacy service to provide exceptional patient care.
• Supervise, motivate and support pharmacy staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on quality‑improvement projects that enhance safety, efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Provide professional and empathetic customer service to patients, families and healthcare staff.
• Coordinate medication management for paediatric and women’s patients.
• Use pharmacy software systems to process prescriptions and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Band 6 pharmacist or higher.
• Experience in a hospital clinical pharmacy setting, preferably with paediatric and women’s health patients.
• Ability to supervise and support a pharmacy team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and documentation.
