Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

About the role

The Clinical/Counselling Psychologist will deliver a high‑quality, specialist psychological service to adults with complex, severe or enduring mental health difficulties within the Bellshill locality and, when required, across NHS Lanarkshire Psychological Therapies Teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct autonomous specialist psychological assessments, formulations and evidence‑based treatments for individuals, families and carers.
• Provide individual and group interventions both face‑to‑face and digitally.
• Offer consultation, supervision, teaching and training to multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Lead clinical and professional development, supervising qualified psychologists, trainees and assistant psychologists.
• Represent the service at referral allocation meetings, team meetings and wider organisational forums.

Required profile

• Doctoral level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
• Significant experience working with complex and enduring mental health difficulties.
• Experience in providing consultation, teaching and supervision to other professionals.
• Completed formal training in supervision and ongoing professional development.
