Collections Advisor – B2B Account Recovery

About the role

We are seeking a Collections Advisor to join an expanding organisation in Birmingham. You will manage a portfolio of B2B accounts in arrears, working in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of B2B accounts ranging from £1,000 to £20,000 that are in arrears.
• Proactively contact clients by phone, email and written correspondence to recover outstanding balances.
• Negotiate payment plans and resolutions in line with company policies.
• Achieve a collection rate of at least 90% within 30 days.
• Assess customer circumstances and apply appropriate collection strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and agreements.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk cases when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal procedures.
• Contribute to a high‑performance, target‑driven team environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in collections or credit control, preferably within financial services or B2B lending.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven setting.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Resilient, confident and able to handle challenging conversations professionally.
• Highly motivated with a results‑driven mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational capability.
• High‑energy, proactive approach with effective workload management.
