Commercial Paralegal – In‑house Legal Team (3‑month contract)

About the role

This temporary position offers a Commercial Paralegal the chance to join an in‑house legal team in Birmingham, supporting the review and management of a high volume of customer contracts. You will work closely with sales, procurement and finance colleagues in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse customer contracts for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
• Identify and flag legal and commercial risks, escalating where necessary.
• Assist in negotiations by suggesting amendments and drafting standard clauses.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify contract requirements and resolve queries.
• Track contract status, maintain records in contract management systems and ensure proper storage.
• Support the preparation, formatting and execution of agreements.
• Provide general commercial and administrative assistance to the wider legal team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a paralegal, preferably with exposure to commercial contracts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review legal documents efficiently.
• Good understanding of basic contractual terms and commercial risk.
• Confident communicator able to work with non‑legal stakeholders.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Proactive, adaptable and eager to develop contract law skills.
