Communications Manager

About the role

Go South Coast is looking for an experienced and proactive Communications Manager to shape internal and external communication across its bus network in southern England. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and senior leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring all messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with the company’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of integrated internal and external communications plans that support business objectives.
• Continuously review and improve internal communications strategy to boost employee engagement and understanding.
• Advise senior leaders on clear communication of business updates, changes and initiatives.
• Own and optimise internal channels such as Blink, the intranet and SharePoint, ensuring best practice, strong engagement and effective governance.
• Create and deliver engaging, accessible content that reflects the company tone of voice and values.
• Design and run creative employee‑engagement campaigns that bring company priorities to life.
• Write and edit high‑quality content for a range of internal and external channels, including press releases, video scripts and visual assets.
• Support crisis communications and issues management as required.
• Define and track KPIs for communications activity, reporting insights to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a communications role within a large, multi‑site organisation.
• Proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to advise senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for creating clear, engaging content.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
