Communications Officer

About the role

The Government Office for Science is seeking a Communications Officer to support the Government Chief Scientific Adviser and senior colleagues. You will help promote science, technology and engineering across government policy and improve the impact of scientific advice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior officials on communications strategy and content.
• Develop and deliver communications material under tight deadlines.
• Build and maintain networks across Whitehall and external partners.
• Support crisis communication, including potential activation of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).
• Contribute to the promotion of evidence‑based policy through digital channels.
