Community Mental Health Nurse – East Dunbartonshire

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a qualified Community Mental Health Nurse to join the East Dunbartonshire Mental Health Team based at Kirkintilloch Health and Care Centre. Working Monday‑Friday, 09:00‑17:00, you will provide assessment, planning and delivery of person‑centred care for adults with mental health needs across the community.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the named nurse/keyworker for a defined caseload, conducting holistic assessments, risk evaluations and care planning.
• Develop, implement and review strength‑based, recovery‑focused care programmes, promoting self‑management.
• Deliver nursing interventions in the least restrictive way, addressing physical health, health promotion and safeguarding concerns.
• Collaborate with patients, carers, multidisciplinary team members and external agencies while adhering to legislative and clinical standards.
• Undertake regular line‑management and clinical supervision, and provide mentorship, pre‑ceptorship and learning support to junior staff.
• Carry out domiciliary visits throughout East Dunbartonshire as required.

Required profile

• Current NMC registration (live UK PIN) and a valid UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Commitment to person‑centred, recovery‑oriented practice.
• Strong communication skills for partnership working with patients, families and professionals.
