About the role

The school is a long‑standing secondary school in Guildford, educating pupils aged 11‑16. It seeks an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to start in September/October 2026, with options for part‑time or full‑time, supply or permanent contracts. The role offers a salary ranging from £34,387 to £52,489 per annum (or £160‑£270 per day).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering core curriculum topics and fostering analytical thinking.
• Teach programming concepts using languages such as Python, Java and C++, as well as introduce students to cybersecurity fundamentals and computational thinking.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations through targeted revision sessions, mock exams and personalised feedback.
• Inspire a passion for technology and digital skills by organising extracurricular clubs, projects and real‑world problem‑solving activities.

Required profile

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and up‑to‑date awareness of industry trends.
• Possess experience teaching programming languages, preferably Python, Java or C++, and be able to adapt lessons for diverse learner needs.
