Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager will join Hackney Council’s new Construction and Commercial team to help deliver over 3,000 new homes across the borough over the next decade. You will work on council‑owned land, ensuring new neighbourhoods are built to high standards of design, quality, safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead major construction projects from inception to completion.
• Provide construction and commercial advice on the buildability of housing schemes.
• Manage construction contracts and direct external contractors to achieve quality, safety and sustainability targets.
• Offer professional and technical guidance on construction industry and market conditions to senior officers and elected members.
• Collaborate with architects, design teams, developers and other stakeholders throughout the delivery process.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to delivering exemplary housing development and regeneration schemes.
• Proven track record of working collaboratively with project stakeholders.
• Significant technical expertise gained through housing construction and delivery experience.
• Experience working at various levels within the construction industry.
