About the role

We are a top‑tier law firm in Manchester City Centre seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor to join our specialist Private Client team. You will manage a varied caseload of deputyship matters, supporting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding their financial affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of Court of Protection deputyship applications.
• Prepare and progress applications to the Court of Protection.
• Act for professional and lay deputies, providing legal advice.
• Advise clients, attorneys, deputies and families on capacity‑related issues.
• Oversee clients' financial affairs, including property, investments and statutory reporting.
• Prepare annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• Previous experience handling Court of Protection matters, preferably within a specialist team.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills with a compassionate, professional approach.
