Cover Teacher – Secondary Schools (Full‑Time Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Cover Teacher to provide day‑to‑day support for secondary‑age students across a range of subjects in Lewisham schools. The role involves stepping in for absent teachers, delivering lesson plans and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons according to the school’s curriculum and teacher’s plans.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and complete all required checks.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and pupil progress.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student wellbeing.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people.
• A degree or equivalent qualification.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (issued within the last year).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
