Data Product Lead / Engineer

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Data Product Lead/Engineer to own the definition, governance, and evolution of domain‑aligned data products. Working closely with Data Engineers and Architects, you will ensure that data assets are well‑modeled, scalable, and usable across the organisation, enabling self‑service analytics for business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define grain, primary keys and conformed dimensions for gold‑layer data products.
• Author detailed source‑to‑target mappings across bronze → silver → gold transformations.
• Partner with engineering on normalized vs dimensional modelling trade‑offs and validate modelling strategy (SCD types, surrogate keys, etc.).
• Establish data contracts between upstream ingestion pipelines and downstream consumers.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for analytics teams, managing roadmaps, priorities and backlog alignment.
• Translate business requirements into transformation logic, schema changes, acceptance criteria and data‑quality rules.
• Identify cross‑domain dependencies and balance feature delivery with platform stability.

Required profile

• Accountable for defining, governing and evolving data products in line with Greystar’s data strategy.
• Partner closely with Data Engineers, Architects and Line‑of‑Business analytics teams.
• Technically fluent in data pipelines, ingestion patterns and dimensional models within a modern lakehouse architecture.
• Strong communication skills to align stakeholders, manage roadmaps and report progress.
