Deburrer / Linisher – Manufacturing Finishing Role

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Deburrer / Linisher to join a manufacturing team in Manchester. The role is based in the finishing department, preparing precision‑engineered metal components for inspection and dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Deburr and finish machined or fabricated metal parts using hand and power tools.
• Operate linishing and polishing equipment to achieve required surface finishes.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges and machining marks while preserving dimensional integrity.
• Interpret engineering drawings and job instructions where required.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure components meet quality standards.
• Clean, label and prepare finished parts for the next production stage.
• Report defects or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
• Maintain a tidy, 5S‑compliant workspace and follow health & safety procedures.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives within the department.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Deburrer, Linisher, Metal Finisher or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and positive attitude.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools and power tools for finishing.
• Operation of linishing and polishing equipment (e.g., orbital sanders, abrasive wheels).
• Basic engineering drawing interpretation (desirable).
• Manual dexterity and ability to work to tight tolerances.
