Design Engineer – Construction Engineering

About the role

Robert Bird Group is looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join its Construction Engineering team in Birmingham. The role sits at the intersection of structural engineering, construction methodology, temporary works and digital design, offering the chance to tackle complex technical challenges across the full construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support early‑stage methodology development and buildability assessments.
• Produce detailed designs for both temporary and permanent works.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, developers and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Contribute to delivering efficient, safe and buildable solutions.
