Digital Marketing Specialist – PPC (Manchester)

About the role

MDPI is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist focused on pay‑per‑click (PPC) and paid social campaigns. Based in our Manchester city‑centre office, you will support journal promotion and corporate marketing across major social platforms and Google.

Key responsibilities

• Implement paid social media strategy for a portfolio of key brands.
• Execute digital marketing plans, including always‑on and major campaign initiatives.
• Provide guidance on digital marketing best practices across the business.
• Monitor, analyse and report on campaign performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and maintain strong relationships with brand owners.
• Maintain a weekly content calendar and support corporate projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related field.
• Experience coordinating paid social or digital marketing activities.
• Native‑level English proficiency; additional languages a plus.
• Strong organisational, analytical and prioritisation skills.
• Interest in science, publishing and continuous learning.

• Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram platforms.
• Social Media Ad Managers (e.g., Google Ad Manager).
• Hootsuite, Falcon, Sprout.
• Google Suite tools: GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console.
• Data visualisation tools.
