Director, Enterprise Risk Frameworks & Appetite

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior leader to drive the evolution and adoption of its Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The Director will partner with risk teams and business units to ensure consistent policy application and robust risk appetite governance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Advance enterprise-wide adoption of risk management framework capabilities and monitor compliance.
• Engage regulated entities to develop or refresh standalone risk policies.
• Design and deliver processes and tools that support policy compliance and monitoring.
• Coordinate stakeholder feedback and prepare executive materials for periodic policy refreshes.
• Lead enhancements to the Risk Appetite Framework, including the Risk Appetite Statement, metrics, and related processes.
• Collaborate with first and second lines of defense to align risk appetite metrics and limits.
• Support enterprise-level monitoring of risk appetite and identify emerging issues.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in enterprise risk management, policy development, and risk appetite governance.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across business functions and regulatory environments.
• Ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear executive communications.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving organization‑wide risk initiatives.
