Director of Group Finance

About the role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Group Finance will be a key member of the leadership team, helping to shape the next stage of the group's development. The role sits within a private‑equity‑backed engineering and manufacturing group that supplies specialist products and solutions across domestic, commercial and industrial markets in the UK. It combines technical finance leadership with business transformation, covering systems, processes, acquisition integration, reporting, treasury and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the group finance function.
• Drive systems and process improvements and finance transformation projects.
• Support acquisition integration and synergy delivery.
• Own group reporting, consolidation and financial control.
• Lead statutory reporting, audit and compliance activities.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, banking relationships and debt facilities.
• Partner with operational leaders to support growth and value creation.
• Act as a key stakeholder with investors, lenders and external advisors.

Required profile

• ACA (or equivalent) qualification.
• Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong experience in group reporting, audit and statutory compliance.
• Track record of systems and processes improvement, finance transformation or business integration.
• Experience of treasury and cash management.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead high‑performing teams.
• Experience within a private‑equity‑backed, manufacturing, engineering or multi‑site environment is highly advantageous.
