Director of Product Design

About the role

Carwow is looking for a Director of Product Design to lead its design team and shape the next generation of its two‑sided car marketplace. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will partner closely with product and engineering leaders to turn the company’s vision into a seamless experience for both car buyers and dealers.

Key responsibilities

• Define the long‑term Carwow experience in collaboration with product, engineering and leadership.
• Design for both consumer and dealer sides, ensuring insights from each inform the other.
• Connect disparate product touch‑points across web and app to create a unified journey.
• Raise design standards, mentor designers and recruit new talent.
• Stay close to users, conduct research, review work and tackle the hardest product problems.
• Use data and experimentation to measure design impact and iterate.
• Explore and apply AI where it genuinely improves the experience.

Required profile

• Proven leadership of product design in a digital product business.
• Strong product judgement and a passion for craft.
• Experience designing complex marketplace or platform products for multiple user types.
• Ability to partner effectively with product and engineering teams.
• Fresh perspective; automotive background not required.
