Director, Strategic Asset Management, Housing

About the role

This senior position offers the chance to lead and expand a specialist affordable‑housing advisory team within a national property consultancy. Based in London with hybrid working, you will shape the strategic asset management service for registered providers and housing organisations across the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and grow a dedicated housing advisory team, driving business development and client acquisition.
• Provide strategic asset‑management advice covering portfolio strategy, compliance, investment planning and long‑term performance.
• Act as a trusted senior advisor to housing providers, influencing decisions on building safety, ESG, net‑zero and regulatory changes.
• Lead commercial negotiations, produce insightful recommendations and support senior client relationships.
• Collaborate with the wider property consultancy to integrate housing services into the national offering.

Required profile

• Proven consultancy background with senior client‑facing experience.
• Strong track record in affordable‑housing asset management or related advisory work.
• Deep understanding of sector challenges such as compliance, building safety, ESG and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.
• Professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, CIOB, CIH) are desirable but not mandatory.
