About the role
The University of Staffordshire is seeking a passionate Early Years Educator to join its state‑of‑the‑art Woodlands Day Nursery and Forest School on the Stoke Campus. Working part‑time (22.5 hours per week) you will support children’s learning and development in a unique outdoor‑focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a play‑based early years curriculum that integrates indoor and outdoor activities.
- Facilitate nature‑based learning experiences such as den building, forest art and wildlife identification.
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery and forest school settings.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues and university staff to support each child’s individual needs.
- Participate in the upkeep of the sustainable learning environment and outdoor facilities.
Required profile
- Relevant early years qualification (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Teacher Status or equivalent).
- Experience working with children aged 0‑5 in a nursery or forest‑school setting.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and the university’s values.
