Electrical Day Shift Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Day Shift Technician to join the manufacturing team at Nestlé’s Dalston coffee factory in Cumbria. The role is permanent, Monday‑Friday 8am‑4pm, and focuses on planned preventative maintenance while supporting the shift team during breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out critical electrical compliance preventative maintenance across the plant.
• Support new electrical installations and remedial works identified during audits.
• Assist the shift‑based team with breakdowns to maximise production output.
• Raise purchase orders and coordinate with the Maintenance Coordinator to maintain stock levels within budget.
• Maintain quality standards, update technical documentation and contribute to HACCP, ISO9002, CDM initiatives.

Required profile

• NVQ Electrical Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship.
• 18th Edition certification, Minor Works and Compex qualified.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with spray dryers and evaporators.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at height and in ATEX/DSEAR areas.

Required skills

• PLC programming – Rockwell platform.
• Instrumentation knowledge – BEAMEX.
• Electrical installation and maintenance of pumps, motors, valves and high‑pressure pipework.
