Electrical Test Engineer

About the role

This permanent, field‑based position involves carrying out periodic electrical inspection and testing for retail and commercial sites across the West Midlands. You will produce accurate Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in line with BS 7671 and provide clear remedial recommendations using digital reporting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations on assigned sites.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive EICRs that meet BS 7671 standards.
• Identify, categorise, and document defects, offering practical remedial advice.
• Use digital reporting systems to record findings and manage workload independently.
• Maintain a company van and travel to sites within the regional patch.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician).
• C&G 2391‑52 (or equivalent) and C&G 2382 (18th Edition) qualifications.
• Desire to specialise in inspection & testing with a focus on long‑term development.

Required skills

• Electrical inspection & testing.
