EMEA Tax Specialist

About the role

The EMEA Tax Specialist will join Flight Centre Travel Group’s Europe Finance Team, supporting tax compliance across a wide range of countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Reporting to the EMEA Senior Tax Manager, you will work closely with local finance teams and the Global Tax team in Australia to ensure accurate filing and strategic tax management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day tax compliance for FCTG entities in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, UAE, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax filings and other statutory tax reports.
• Collaborate with local finance resources to gather data and resolve tax queries.
• Liaise with HMRC and other tax authorities on compliance matters.
• Support the Global Tax team on transfer pricing, tax strategy and risk management.
• Attend internal conferences, downloads and buzz nights in London and travel to EMEA offices as required.

Required profile

• ACA or CTA qualified with 0‑3 years post‑qualification experience in an in‑house corporate or indirect tax role or a reputable professional services firm.
• Solid UK tax knowledge, including VAT.
• Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Exposure to tax provisioning software.
