Employee Relations Advisor

About the role

Monzo is looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join its People team. You will partner with managers and People Partners across the UK and EU, providing specialist advice on complex and higher‑risk employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, fair guidance on performance, conduct, grievances, absence, capability and organisational change cases.
• Adapt advice to different jurisdictions, taking local law, culture and regulatory requirements into account.
• Act as an escalation point for senior ER colleagues, helping them assess risk and options.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced ER team members, building their confidence and judgement.
• Support employment disputes, including ACAS Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims, working closely with Legal and external counsel.
• Analyse ER data to identify trends, emerging risks and actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling complex, sensitive and higher‑risk employee relations matters.
• Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and experience with ACAS and tribunal processes.
• Background working in a multi‑jurisdictional or global ER environment.
• Ability to influence and build trusted relationships with managers and senior stakeholders.
• Highly organised, comfortable managing multiple priorities and ambiguous situations.
• Passion for creating kind, fair and respectful people experiences.
