Senior Director of People Operations

About the role

Monzo is looking for a visionary senior leader to shape and run its People Operations function across the globe. Reporting to the VP of Reward & People Operations, you will own People Technology, Analytics, Global Mobility and Payroll, driving data‑driven processes and AI‑enabled solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Create and champion a multi‑year strategy and technical roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Set and drive the AI strategy for the People team, leading an existing cross‑team AI project squad.
• Lead governance, stakeholder management and executive communications to enable execution.
• Advance automation, self‑service and digital transformation across all people touchpoints.
• Mature people analytics capabilities, delivering high‑quality insights and predictive models.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure best‑in‑class technology solutions.
• Oversee payroll, mobility and systems governance to maintain data integrity and compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and leading People Operations and technology strategies at scale.
• Deep knowledge of payroll cycles, global mobility frameworks and enterprise HRIS ecosystems (preferably Workday).
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills, comfortable partnering with C‑suite leaders.
• Expertise in GDPR, data‑privacy laws and international employment compliance.
