Employment Solicitor (NQ‑1 PQE) – Birmingham – Hybrid

About the role

This is a newly‑qualified solicitor position within a fast‑growing employment law team. You will receive early responsibility, hybrid working and a clear progression path while developing technical expertise across a wide range of employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and progress employment claims in tribunals and courts.
• Advise clients on unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, whistleblowing and related issues.
• Work within an insurance‑backed litigation environment, considering policy implications.
• Liaise with clients, counsel, courts and third parties.
• Provide accurate, timely legal advice to support broader business objectives.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to junior team members where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) at NQ level with a genuine interest in employment law.
• Solid grounding in employment law and experience handling a varied caseload.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with case management platforms and digital dictation tools.
• Exposure to insurance litigation or claims handling is advantageous but not essential.
