English Teacher (Secondary) – Liverpool

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join a secondary school in Liverpool. The role starts in September 2026, is full‑time (8 am‑4 pm) and is a long‑term temporary assignment paid to scale.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering reading, writing, speaking and listening.
- Assess student progress through homework, exams and classroom participation.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Encourage communication skills via discussions, presentations and writing exercises.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and needs.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
- Safeguarding training (desirable, can be provided).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
