Entry-Level Occupational Therapist – SEN School (Birmingham)

About the role
We are seeking a newly qualified or early‑career Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Birmingham. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to support pupils with a range of SEND, helping them access learning, develop independence and achieve personal goals.
Key responsibilities
- Assess pupils' functional, sensory and motor needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised intervention programmes in one‑to‑one and small‑group settings.
- Recommend and monitor equipment, strategies and environmental adaptations.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants and external professionals to embed therapeutic approaches into classroom practice.
- Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and annual reviews.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
Required profile
- Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Eligibility for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) before starting.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Interest in working with children and young people with special educational needs.
Required skills
- Assessment of functional, sensory and motor abilities.
- Design and implementation of therapeutic intervention programmes.
- Knowledge of equipment and environmental adaptations for SEND pupils.

- Full‑time, temporary contract (fixed‑term) with competitive daily rate (£153.84‑£202.77).
- Mileage reimbursement at £0.45 per mile for welfare visits.
