Estate Property Maintenance & Compliance Lead

About the role

Lead the strategy behind a national property estate, shaping maintenance standards, improving contractor performance and protecting assets across a large UK portfolio. This senior, high‑impact position works closely with senior stakeholders to drive operational excellence and commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve the estate‑wide repairs and maintenance strategy.
• Act as the escalation point for complex or high‑value maintenance issues.
• Establish standards, frameworks and governance processes to improve consistency and quality.
• Lead the national contractor framework, including performance management and continuous improvement.
• Manage maintenance spend, identify cost drivers and provide commercial insight to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure statutory compliance across the estate, overseeing inspections, certifications and remedial actions.
• Conduct condition assessments and identify future maintenance and capital investment requirements.
• Support capital projects with practical operational and technical expertise.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior property, facilities, maintenance or estate management roles.
• Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing national contractor networks and supplier performance.
• Excellent commercial awareness with responsibility for sizeable maintenance budgets.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders across operational and senior leadership teams.
