Executive Publisher – Journal Portfolio

About the role

The Executive Publisher will lead the strategic growth and development of a portfolio of scientific journals. Based in London with a hybrid working model, this full‑time permanent role combines editorial leadership with team management to ensure a high‑quality publishing programme.

Key responsibilities

• Create a positive, energetic team environment where members are engaged, develop their skills and understand their contribution to business goals.
• Drive editorial and publishing development across the journal portfolio, applying strategic thinking and portfolio‑management expertise.
• Engage regularly with external editors, editorial board members and research communities, building networks and fostering strong scientific understanding.
• Attract leading authors and manage relationships with publishing partners to deliver timely, high‑impact content.
• Oversee the publishing programme, ensuring efficient workflow, quality control and adherence to schedules.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing and growing a portfolio of academic or scientific journals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, aligning goals and fostering adaptability.
• Strong network‑building skills with external editors and research communities.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on editorial excellence and market relevance.
