Experienced Cable Harness Technician (Swindon)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cable Harness Technician to join our production team in Swindon. The role involves assembling, testing and maintaining cable harnesses to the highest quality standards in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and technical drawings to assemble cable harnesses.
• Cut, strip, crimp and solder wires, install connectors, lugs and protective coverings according to specifications.
• Perform continuity and electrical testing using multimeters and dedicated testers.
• Inspect finished assemblies, record results and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of materials, processes and test outcomes.
• Carry out routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to health, safety and industry regulations, using appropriate PPE and keeping a tidy workspace.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cable harness assembly or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and record‑keeping skills.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Soldering, crimping and connector installation.
• Use of multimeters and continuity testing equipment.
• Familiarity with IPC620, JSTD and COPs standards (preferred).
