Field Service Engineer – Packaging Machinery (Food Manufacturing)

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support packaging machinery used in the food manufacturing sector. The role is primarily home‑based with 90% of the work carried out on client sites across the North West, requiring an average of one overnight stay per week and minimal weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair and refurbish packaging machines at client locations.
• Provide on‑site technical support and troubleshooting.
• Travel across the North West region, staying away one night per week on average.
• Work overtime as needed, with enhanced rates for evenings, nights and weekends.
• Undertake full product training in the UK and Europe and receive on‑site mentoring for the first six months.

Required profile

• Experienced maintenance engineer from a food factory or field service engineer with hands‑on packaging machinery experience.
• Qualified multi‑skilled engineer, ideally with an apprenticeship up to HNC level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• 18th Edition certification and PLC knowledge are advantageous.
