Field Service Technician – CNC Machinery (Birmingham)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in Birmingham and involves servicing world‑class CNC machinery at customer sites across the Midlands. You will receive extensive training and a clear development path, allowing you to become the go‑to expert in your area while returning home each night.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
• Replace, adjust and align mechanical components to specification.
• Conduct inspections and complete detailed service reports.
• Provide basic operator guidance to customers after maintenance visits.
• Liaise with the technical support team when additional expertise is required.
• Maintain tools, equipment and service vehicle to a high standard.
• Travel to customer sites within the local patch, with minimal overnight stays.

Required profile

• Mechanically‑minded with a hands‑on approach, whether from work or hobbies.
• Comfortable travelling locally and interacting with customers on site.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Professional communication skills and a genuine desire to learn.
