Finance Director – Venture Capital Investor (London)

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the finance function of a fast‑growing venture capital investor, acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership. You will oversee financial governance, capital management and reporting across both the management company and its funds, driving discipline and scalable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all finance operations for the management company, including accounting, FP&A, treasury and cash management.
• Deliver accurate financial, management and investor reporting in line with GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Lead audit and tax processes, serving as primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
• Partner with fund administrators to manage fund accounting, reporting and operational processes.
• Support fund launches, structuring and closings together with legal, compliance and investment teams.
• Provide commercial financial analysis to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Assist fundraising by preparing projections, performance metrics and due‑diligence materials.
• Develop and implement scalable finance processes, controls and best practices.
• Manage, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Ensure internal controls and compliance with regulatory, tax and jurisdictional requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Experience with consolidations and relevant accounting standards (GAAP).
• Commercially minded, able to support strategic initiatives and deliver solutions.
• Proven ability to lead finance functions in a venture capital or private‑equity environment.
• Track record of managing and developing finance teams.
