Finance Manager – Retail (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a dynamic retail business in North Manchester to hire a Finance Manager. This newly created, full‑time position reports to the Financial Controller and leads a small finance team, overseeing month‑end, statutory and regulatory reporting in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage quarterly financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with FRS 101 reporting standards.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and meet all indirect tax obligations.
• Oversee ESG reporting requirements and support broader compliance initiatives.
• Maintain strong financial controls, governance and approval processes.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations to guarantee data integrity.
• Produce management information packs and business performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvements across finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to support commercial and operational decision‑making.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience managing or developing finance teams.
• Working knowledge of FRS 101 (or equivalent IFRS).
• Experience overseeing VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement.
• Strong communication skills and confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
