Finance Process Transformation Lead – SAP S/4HANA

About the role

We are partnering with a major FTSE‑listed organisation on a 12‑month interim Finance Process Transformation programme as it prepares for SAP S/4HANA. The Finance Process Transformation Lead will drive the discovery, assessment and roadmap phase for Record‑to‑Report, Order‑to‑Cash and Procure‑to‑Pay.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery and diagnostic activities across finance processes, systems and data.
• Assess current‑state processes and define future‑state designs for R2R, O2C and P2P.
• Identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification, data harmonisation and improved governance.
• Develop a prioritised, value‑led transformation roadmap aligned with SAP S/4HANA best practices.
• Challenge recommendations from external consultancies and system integrators, ensuring minimal customisation.
• Create value frameworks and support business cases linking initiatives to measurable outcomes.
• Engage and influence senior finance, transformation and executive stakeholders.
• Help transition the programme from discovery into mobilisation for delivery.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading finance transformation within a SAP S/4HANA programme.
• Proven responsibility for discovery, diagnostic and roadmap stages of major finance transformations.
• Deep end‑to‑end knowledge of R2R, O2C and P2P processes.
• Ability to assess current‑state, design future‑state processes and drive optimisation and standardisation.
• Strong S/4HANA knowledge to challenge solution designs and customisation decisions.
• Experience working with and challenging Tier 1 consultancies or major system integrators.
• Track record of turning discovery findings into a prioritised roadmap and business case.
• Credibility operating with senior finance and executive stakeholders.
