Finance Transformation Expert – SAP S/4HANA

About the role

This position is for an experienced Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert who will join a large‑scale finance transformation programme centred on a SAP S/4HANA implementation. Working within the Accounting & Finance Management workstream, you will partner with finance, IT and project teams to design, configure and embed new finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the finance SME for the Accounting & Finance Management workstream.
• Gather and validate business requirements with finance, IT and implementation partners.
• Support design and configuration of SAP S/4HANA solutions aligned to finance best practice.
• Review and improve month‑end close, management reporting and financial planning processes.
• Lead and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist with data migration, validation and reconciliation activities.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, issues and process improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to change management, user training and adoption.
• Support cut‑over planning, go‑live activities and post‑implementation optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven finance professional with strong understanding of finance operations.
• Experience working with SAP, preferably in finance.
• Deep knowledge of month‑end close, management accounting and financial reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance, IT and project teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is desirable but not essential.
